New look designs released for Community Health and Learning Hub

Designs for Bendigo TAFE’s new Community Health and Learning Hub in Castlemaine have been released.

Set to open mid-2025, Bendigo TAFE has partnered with Dhelkaya Health to deliver the facility and bring health and care training to Castlemaine.

The designs show a flexible and multi-use facility that simulates real-life experiences and puts learning on display, featuring:

• 4-bed health care simulation space

• 2 bed aged care simulation (residential care)

• home unit simulation (in home care)

• General-purpose classrooms, complemented by student breakout areas, storage, reception, and a shared staff office space.

Construction on the project began in January, and once complete, the Hub will:

Offer a range of Bendigo TAFE’s health services qualifications in areas such as allied health, aged care, disability support, and nursing.

• Expand skills and training opportunities for Castlemaine and surrounding residents closer to home.

Help address regional skills shortages in health and care sectors through local training and employment pathways.

This innovative regional initiative will provide Castlemaine and its surrounding regional residents with more choices for living, learning, and working locally. The project is made possible thanks to a $4million Victorian Government investment.

Comments to be attributed to Minister for Skills and TAFE Gayle Tierney:

“Victoria’s TAFE Network is leading the way in industry-connected skills and training, and Bendigo TAFE’s innovative partnership with Dhelkaya Health is strengthening regional education and workforce development.”

“The new Community Health and Learning Hub in Castlemaine will provide state-of-the-art training facilities, ensuring local students can gain the skills they need for rewarding careers in the health and care sectors, right in their own community.”
